Dominic Laporte
Born and raised in Ottawa, Dominic
continues to pursue his art career in Toronto. Art and music have been an
extremely important part of his life for the last 10 + years. Dominic was first
influenced by his brother who is a prolific graffiti artist. His mother is a
lifelong painter, and his dad was a deejay and record collector. All of these
aspects have driven him heavily into mixed media paintings, combining a wide
variety of materials and color to create what he feels expresses the soul of
the portrait.
“I’m a very nostalgic person, and tend to
delve deeply into cherished memories and past events and that’s what my
intention is with my current work: to create a visual representation of the
person’s memory and soul.”
